In honour of my Father –
Who has never made a promise
That He could not keep.
He vowed to carve a good life for me -
Not just moments, but fullness, real and deep.
And oh wow – how He truly has!
My history – His story of grand design.
The chapters read of excitements and desperately long despairs.
Every known genre has made the script:
Heart-pounding action,
silent fears,
shadows creeping,
ghosts untamed.
Romance is spun into
golden threads.
Comedy brings joy reclaimed.
He has stood
by all He’s whispered.
Through the storm,
through the flame.
A promise kept –
a life restored -
A Father true to His name.
While I’m consciously aware
of the nightmare battles
that the future may hold;
Still, I trust Him and wait, expectantly –
for the more
He has in store
for me.
For a love
that only He can give.
The love reserved
for doted-on kids…
For the life
I look for
evermore.
