Listen to the recital:
My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth.
1 John 3:18
The Cross!
My Cross, your cross…. our cross!
I ask: “Why a cross?
Why not a frown?”
Did we cross a lot of boundaries that
linear saving was no longer enough?
Did we get entangled in our own web
of recreating and inventing,
that angular arrows could not reach?
“Love conquers all” – it is said.
And love had to conquer again-
but this time it meant a different kind of love.
Not a guy meets a girl and becomes one in linear love;
because that is predictable.
It was something else.
Just like a seed thrown into the soil
to die, decompose and re-sprout –
it meant the only Son
to die, be buried and rise again;
to grow and create a new
family tree out of bondage.
This was not the Egypt saving;
as the Saviour never complained.
This was not Nineveh’s warning;
as there were no hard feelings when it was saved.
This time it was different:
A different approach for a different problem;
an unusual tackle for an unusual stance.
This time was needed a circular love;
for it was the only thing
able to break everything coming its way.
Meeting each one at their cross!
