The Holy One is our answer to prayer;
we are no longer set apart.
He hears you as He heard He,
Most Faithful One to you and me.
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

After His Heart
From the greatest poet we ever did see;
one with struggles like you and me.
He knew from whence deliverance would come –
It was, of course, the Holy One.
His enemies were many:
wild beasts, kings, his own family.
He knew from whence his salvation would come –
It was, of course, the Holy One.
Despite a mighty Philistine he could conquer,
he faced days of abundance and even days of hunger.
He knew from whence his sustenance would come –
It was, of course, the Holy One.
Swinging from highs to lows,
his sons, competitive arrows.
He knew from whence an ear would come,
It was, of course, the Holy One.
Yet if we turn His glory to shame,
seek false gods, pray to other names,
we are no longer set apart.
Rather set back and without a head start.
The Holy One is our answer to prayer;
relief from distress, heartache, the muck, and the mire.
He hears you as He heard He,
Most Faithful One to you and me.
