Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Resemblance
Like a child playing dress – up,
my mind is made up.
Like a boy wearing a police uniform
belonging to his father;
I too want to wear Your robe of righteousness;
for You are my Father!
The boy has his father’s resemblance;
I too have Your resemblance –
for I am created in Your image.
After wearing his father’s suit,
he stands and acts as his father;
but without armoury.
I will wear a faith armour.
He only acts for a while;
whilst I do not want to act for a mile.
I want to be like You the whole time –
for if I stop, what will take over will be sin.
I not only want to wear Your make-up,
I want to be made up
Into a new creation –
a new identity in You.
I am aware that, like the boy;
I have to grow to be like You.
Raise in me a new creation;
for I want to be like you.
