A Life Poured Out
“Lord, I am running around,
trying to cook and clean,
to raise my kids and still do everything…
– can’t you ask Mary to come and help me?”
“My child, just come and sit at My feet…”
“I can’t Lord.
The moment I become quiet,
the moment I stop and take a seat,
– I’m afraid I’ll start to weep…”
“My daughter, don’t you know,
that your tears wash My feet? …”
“But Lord, all I do is wash dishes,
pick up laundry and sort out fights.
– I wish my life could mean more
– than just closing cupboard doors…”
“My daughter, what you see
as wasted time,
that could have served the poor,
– I see as precious perfume,
poured upon My feet…
Your Life – Poured out,
your Tears and Doubt,
has shown your
Love for Me…”

Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’
